Do you want to take your canine companion to dinner? If so, here are three dog-friendly restaurants in Houston where you and your pup are sure to enjoy a delicious meal.
Porch Swing Pub
Since 2008, the Porch Swing Pub has been where strangers become friends. The staff is wonderfully attentive, and the patio is complete with picnic tables, mature trees, and HD televisions. Guests never miss a minute of the big game! There are 38 beers on draft, and the food menu also offers something for everyone with choices such as Buffalo Bayou pizzas, spicy garlic wings, and blue cheese bacon burgers.
The Black Labrador
The Black Labrador has been a Houston tradition for the last thirty years. It’s nestled beneath the Campanile Tower, and it’s where visitors can feast on authentic English fare. The charming patio features ivy, an oversized outdoor chessboard, and a fireplace. The friendly wait staff enjoys chatting with those they serve. In the kitchen, the chefs create an array of meals including lemon pepper cod, English fish pie, and Sole in its Coffin.
When Pub Fiction opened in 2005, it became the first urban tavern in Midtown. It’s known for its bar and late-night party scene and offers a patio with unique sculptures, towering trees, and twinkling lights. The chef-inspired menu features street tacos, grilled margarita chicken breasts, and veggie burgers. These dishes pair well with refreshing cocktails such as Dublin Connection and Cider House Rules.
Soto’s Cantina is an award-winning Mexican restaurant where the chefs use old family recipes. It’s known for serving some of the best fajitas in the state. For the last three years, the Houston Chronicle has named it one of the city’s “Top 100 Restaurants.” The quaint patio is complete with an array of colorful flowers, and in addition to the fajitas, the menu also includes cheese jalapeno tamales, crispy tacos, and pepper chicken.
